A sample of gas occupies a volume of 54.6 mL. As it expands, it does 149.1 J of work on its surroundings at a constant pressure of 783 torr. What is the final volume of the gas?

    Hey So you are using P (bar) V (L) = W (J)

    1 torr = 1.33 mbar, so 783=1.044 bar

    so PV=W, V=W/P=117.1 J / 1.044 bar = 1.12 L
