    Polarity creates dipoles. Therefore, by seeing if a bond is polar you can tell if a molecule has dipole dipole forces. Polarity is determined by electronegativity. Electronegativity increases across a row and up a column on the periodic table. This trend verifies and shows that Fluorine is the most electronegative atom on the periodic table. Therefore, when less electronegative atoms are bonded to more electronegative atoms, dipole dipole forces are created.
