Should aromatic hydrocarbons react similarly with cyclic alkenes

    No, they don't. In aromatic carbons, the electrons flow constantly, causing the electron density to have uniformly distributed. while in cyclic alkenes is the contrary, the electrons do not flow throughout the molecule and the electron density is not uniformly distributed.
