Why does gravitational potential energy depend on both mass and height?

    According to the laws of gravity it is directly proportional to the mass of the body's involved and inversely proportional to the distance between the two objects, that is the closer it is the more strongly will the two objects pull each other and the larger the mass involved the stronger the force of attraction.
