    Each compound of barium hydroxide (Ba (OH) 2) is composed of one barium ion and two of the hydroxide ions. Thus, to determine the molar amount of barium and hydroxide ions, respectively, multiply the molarity given by 1 and 2, respectively.

    Barium ion = (1.0 x 10^-6 M) x 1 = 1.0 x 10^-6 M

    Hydroxide ion = (1.0 x 10^-6 M) x 2 = 2.0 x 1-^-6 M
