I'd say (A) Merle should use Find and Replace, and Shania should use the Format Painter.

You can find all bold cells in a selection by the find and replace command and format the bold cells to non-bolded cells. To locate the find and replace dialog box, Merle is required to select the range that she wants to identify the bold cells in the home tab, find and select, and the find to open the find and replace dialog box. In this dialog box, you can find the format button.

Shania on the other hand will use the format painter to quickly copy formatting from one thing in a document to another. She will simply select the cell color border and font, click the format painter and copy all formatting to column D
