The purpose of Computer Network needs analysis is to:

    1) understand why the network is being built and what users and applications it will support.

    2) the network is being designed to improve poor performance or enable new applications to be used.

    3) the network is upgraded to replace unreliable or aging equipment or to standardize equipment so that only one type of equipment, one protocol (e. g., TCP/IP, Ethernet), or one vendor’s equipment is used everywhere in the network.
