East, about half way up from the horizon.

    Explanation:

Azimuth is the angle which is horizontal and started at zero degree from north and moves towards east at 90 degree, then moves towards 180 degree toward south further moves toward west at 270 degree and reach again at north at 360 degree. According to the definition of Azimuth the position of star is 90 degree which means East.

Angle between height of the earth from horizon and earth surface is called altitude. If this is 90 it is on the sky. It means if this angle is 45 degree it means half the way up from the horizon.

So according to the statement and angels the position of the star is east, about half way up from the the horizon.
