explains the difficulty in prosecuting computer crime. why is law seemingly a few steps behind new technology or new paradigms? For example, crimes such as a denial of service, ransomware, identify theft that occur or are initiated from different countries who have different law systems. How or can these malicious attacks be prosecuted?

    As computer technology has the altered the way business are done and how we interact with each other, the way crimes are conducted has also changed. Online Stalking, Online espionage, Hacking, cyber adultery and cyber extortion are to name a few. All this has been only possible because of high speed networking and internet. Legislation and regulations have inevitably have failed to keep with pace cyber criminals. Hacking has become an activity of recreation. Government and intelligent agencies turn to computer networking that facilitate both legitimate and criminal activities as well.

    Both the federal government and every state legislature have passed specialized computer crime law to deal with the problem of unauthorized use, access or manipulation of computers or computerized data. However, these laws largely become obsolete the moment they are passed, with adjustment in both technology and behavior of criminals there needs to changes in the law.
