The three main advantage of the IMAP over the POP3 are as follows:

The internet message access protocol (IMAP) is easily access from the internet email access system and it is access without an email client on web. The IMAP migrated easily from one system to another computer system and we do not require to download all the message again in the system. IMAP is an ideal system as, the data is basically store remotely and we can easily handle all the back up facilities remotely in the system as compared to POP3. The main drawback in the POP3 is that the we have to download all the mail on server at once only.

    1) Bidirectional communication between both the email server and the email client, allowing multiple devices to operate on the very same account, seeing modifications made by all.

    2) Emails are always on the network almost all of the time,

    3) In case of a system error in which the inbox is installed, or when the profile is removed for any cause, the emails can always be retrieved.
