N T F S permissions and share permissions are cumulative.

For example:

When you copy a file from one to another then it inherit the permission to target. This represent that file is copied within same volume or different volume.

A file will retain its permissions when you move file between same volume.

A file moved from one volume to separate volume inherits the permissions of volume.
