    Tiered System is a Layered system where each layer represents a specific functionality

    Explanation:

    In general each software application is layered as 3 tier systems where each tier/layer represents a specific functionality. The three layers is software architecture is Presentation Layer, Business Layer and Data Layer.

    Presentation Layer: It represents the UI. design of the screens and all

    Business Layer: It actually represents your Domain logic

    Data Layer : it is data store for your application.

    Java Application connects to a RDMS using data layer. In java application presentation layer represents HTML and CSS forms. Business layer contains java coding which represents your domain logic. Data Layer is used to connect to RDMS from a java application
