Randy's laptop has been plugged in for several days to charge the battery for his long trip. When Randy unplugs the laptop to verify the battery is charged, he notices that the battery is very hot, and the system turns off unexpectedly. He notices a swollen bubble in the plastic on the side of the battery. Of the following, which option would you recommend to Randy?

a. He can still use the battery but let it cool and recharge.

b. The battery will work, however the laptop will not work as long and because the battery will not keep the charge as long.

c. He should replace the battery.

d. He doesn't need a battery; just keep the laptop connected to the charger.
