    Answer: C. Hardware controls software.

    Explanation:

    It is the software which controls all the functionalities of the hardware. The hardware is the backbone of the system so when a software is being developed it is kept in mind of the hardware it will require to support. We as a client we cannot access the hardware directly, as for using the hardware we need a third party.

    Here the third party is the software which make use of the hardware such as ram, memory, registers etc. For example we have a software where we need to perform calculation. So this software will to access the memory and the registers for storing the values. Then the calculations need to be performed in the ALU and then again store the output in the memory.

    So, in this way we can say that the software controls the hardware.
