    File management system is the type of the software which manages the data file in the computer system. It is the process of the multiplication of the data and the documents in the computer file. It is also designed to manage the individual file and the office records.

    File systems that are commonly used in operating systems are:

    FAT file system:

    It is the file system which are used by the DOS and it is simple and reliable to use by other operating system. FAT is stand for file allocation table.

    HPFS:

    It is the process which is supported by the window NT (new technology) and this process is better than the FAT file system. It required more memory as compared to FAT file system. And HPFS stands for high performance file system.
