Why should characters such as / / " ' *; - ? [ ] () ~! $ { } # @ & | space, tab, and newline be avoided in file names?

A. They are not descriptive of a file's contents.

B. They are confusing to users.

C. File names are only permitted to contain letters and numbers.

D. They may have special meaning to the operating system.

    That, OR, They may have a special meaning. Go on with C, but I personally think it may be D.
