    First of all the heavy wastage like rags and sticks are taken out from the screen so that it doesn't damage the pipes and other internal machine parts. Now the water is passed into grit chamber. Here water contaminated by sand, stones etc. is settled at the bottom of the tank. After screening and grit chamber, the water still contains the organic and inorganic waste. The pumping process in the sedimentation tank pumps out the bio solids. Finally using bacteria removes 80% of the organic waste.
