    10 mph

    Explanation:

    20 / x = 12 / (x - 4)

    Cross multiply

    12x = 20 (x - 4)

    12x = 20x - 80

    80 = 20x - 12x

    80 = 8x

    divide through by '8'

    10 = x

    x = 10 mph
