Thermal conductivity k is the ability of material to conduct heat.

When conductivity is high → heat sink

When conductivity is low → insulation.

A shelter material are those material use for building house and they have different thermal conductivity. e. g.

    1. corrugated steel culverts

    2. steel plate

    3. reinforced fiberglass

    4. polyethylene

    5. concrete reinforced e. t. c.

    Material ... k (BTU-hr-ft-deg F)

    Aluminum ... 144.5

    Brass ... 62.99

    Brick ... 0.39

    Concrete ... 0.24

    Fibreglass ... 0.023

    Glass ... 0.61

    Iron (cast) ... 31.78

    Steel ... 26.6

    Nylon ... 0.14

    Polyethene ... 0.24

    Zinc ... 67.04

    Wood (oak) ... 0.098

    Wool ... 0.04

    Wood (plywood) ... 0.075. e. t. c.
