Huck does not like being civilized because he finds it very uncomfortable and would rather go off on his own without anyone around him. He likes Widow Douglas more. He would rather not have to live with either because he dislikes having to be civilized and would rather go off on his own but he enjoys living with both of them more than living with his abusive father, pap.
