In the newspaper, Stefani read the transcript of a speech given by a congressman from her district and inferred from it that the congressman planned to run for state governor. These are some statements from the speech. (1) I have served this district in Congress for three terms now. (2) Over the past six years, I have brought new companies to this area, and those companies brought new jobs. (3) I have brought new investment to the region, which has improved the infrastructure. (4) When I am in Washington, however, I feel removed from what matters most to me-the people of this state. (5) I want to return to you, my friends and neighbors, back home, where I can dig in and really get to work. (6) In the next session, we will be voting on several important bills that will support modernization of our schools. Which two statements provide explicit textual evidence to support Stefani's inference? A. statements 1 and 3 B. statements 2 and 4 C. statements 4 and 5 D. statements 5 and 6

    Hello!

I feel like it's D) 5 and 6 because he says he wants to get to work and that they will be voting on the support of their schools. I could be wrong, but I'm 70% sure it's D.
