Percy feels abandoned by his father because he lived thinking that something was wrong with him and he was forced to live with Smelly Gabe and watch his mother get abused and work hard to push forward. Annabeth felt abandoned because she was forced to live with her father and her step-mother-who did not love her and only saw her as a niusance.
