A train travels at a rate of (5x+2) miles per hour. how many miles can it travel at that rate in (x-3) hours

    In 1 hour it travels (5x+2) miles.

    In (x-3) hours it travels = (5x+2) (x-3)

    = 5x (x-3) + 2 (x-3)

    = 5x²-15x+2x-6

    = 5x²-13x-6 miles.
