Even though it is true that the First Amendment protects freedom of speech, there was also a measure that allows this amendment to sease, when ever there are "fighting words". The so called "fighting words" are words that call to violence or are disruptive. In 1942 the Supreme Court in New Hampshire decided that, the first amendment could be unprotected if words were to be "fighting words". So there could be regulations or comments on indecent performences such as in this case.
