    1. Horace entered Shotover Grange using the kitchen door key which he saw the Housekeeper hang on a hook outside.

    2. The young lady lacked honour.

This is so because, she herself being a thief, deceived Horace which was against the idea of honour among thieves.

    Explanation:

    1. For two weeks Horace gathered much information about the house such as: its paths, its electrical wirings and burglary alarm, the servants as well as the name of the dog. He also knew that the owners would not be back for months and that the servants wouldn't be coming back until four hours later on that day because they had gone to the movies. After he saw the Housekeeper hang the key to the kitchen door on a hook outside, he came out from behind the garden wall, put on a pair of gloves and entered the house using the key.

    2. According to the idea of honour among thieves, thieves are not meant to betray one another. However, the young lady deceived Horace into believing she was the wife of the owner of the house. She also got him into opening the safe for her knowing fully well that he had removed his gloves and could be traced to the burglary while she would get away safe. She lacked honour in doing this as she did not look out for another thief's interest but here's alone.

Horace on the other hand fully cooperated with her and for two days, he even kept the promise he made her of not stealing again
