The Kiowa people and their historical journey are intimately related to the land.

    Explanation:

"The Way to Rainy Mountain" (1969) is a book about native American Kiowa tribe by American author N. Scott Momaday (born 1934). It is an autobiography with historical, folklore and cultural elements of Kiowa tribe.

The opening line of the prologue is about land itself,

"A single knoll rises out of the plain in Oklahoma, north and west of the Wichita Range. For my people, the Kiowas, it is an old landmark, and they gave it the name Rainy Mountain"

In the start of the prologue N. Scots talks mostly about the weather, environment and nature of the land his tribe inhabited for three centuries after migrating from north and ruled it for last one century. In next part of the prologue, he talks about his purpose of visiting his native lands again, talks about his grandmother, and then talks briefly about how Kiowa warriors surrendered to U. S Cavalry. In the last part of the prologue he talks about folklore and culture of the Kiowa tribes which had crops, land, earth, rainy mountain sky as their essential components.

The main purpose of the Prologue is to give insight into Kiowa tribe, their traditions, their land, environment and religion. Second, third and fourth options of the answer are incorrect because they are hardly discussed in the Prologue
