In Ovid's story Icarus and his father Daedalus were imprisoned in Labyrinth by King Minos. Daedalus found a way to escape - he made 2 pairs of wings from feathers and wax, one for himself and another for Icarus. But Icarus flew high in the sky so the sun melted the wax. He fell into the sea near the island of Samos and drowned.

Answer: C. He drowns after losing his wings by flying too close to the sun.
