What would happen if schools took away non-essential classes?

    Shorter school days but it would limit students from figuring out what they like and what they don't like. For example, if your school offers computer science and you take it. You then realize how much you like this class and decided to do this as your career. You would have never have known if you liked CS if that class had never been given to you.

    Kids would not get along in the world.

    This is because if kids have to do thing they don't like it makes them tougher.
