According to the New York Times Magazine article, no deaths were reported in the shock wave.

    Explanation:

It was the year 2013 when a horrifying event took place in Russia. Chelyabinsk Railway Institute experienced something very unusual, students from the institute assembled around the window to see what was happening. Before they could figure out anything, a sudden flash of light blew the windows.

Students started running and were trying to come outside to have a look of what was around. Everyone was in awe and baffled by what they saw. A flash of light was passing by with such speed, later it busted suddenly. This incident injured 200 children and many of them faced severe injury in bones. Fortunately there was no death.
