In Sophocles' "Antigone," the protagonist Antigone faces the toughest dilemma, since her brothers Polyneices and Eteocles have killed each other. In that matter, Eteocles was given proper burial, but Polyneices has been forbidden to be buried. In ancient Greek, the role of women was to choose a special burial right, visit the grave and give offerings. Thus, Antigone's duty to her family was to give Polyneices a proper burial; however, her duties to the city was to obey to the laws and the king. In fact, king Creon is Antigone's uncle, which complicates her dilemma because if she goes against the law, then she is transgressing the law and her family.
