Old Major is a important character in George Orwell's "Animal Farm." He's a wise pig who is respected by all the animals and the inspiration behind the rebellion. He shares his strange dream with his companions and lectures them about man's wrong-doings against animals. He instigates the other animals to plan the rebellion. His flaw lies in his belief that all men are responsible for the suffering of animals. He thinks that if humans are removed then the days of hunger and overwork would end. He also warned the animals that in fighting against men, they mustn't resemble them which is obviously ignored and they do exactly the opposite.
