Interestingly, in Sophocles play Oedipus Rex, he skillfully portrays his views about human limitations. For example, his play character Oedipus, couldn't outrun the prophecy that says he would end up killing his father and marrying his mother, which brought disaster to his city and family.

Looking deep into the play we could observe that the play emphasizes on the popular belief in destiny, implying that no matter one's status prophecy (destiny) will not change.
