Why did Rosalind, Rita, and Russell deem their parents' separation "a blessing"?

A: They preferred to live in peace over a battleground.

B: They were excited to move to a new home.

C: They would be able to go on welfare.

D: They were despondent about their parents' separation.

I'm assuming A but I'd really like to not repeat this test.
