Explain the influence the Industrial Revolution has had on our language and give some examples.

    Industrial revolution allowed for wider distribution of books and newspapers, so people in general became more literate and educated.

    New words entered our vocabulary to describe the machines and inventions that had entered people's daily lives.

    As transportation and communication over places improved, more people became to think more of the world outside the region where they lived. The US and other countries were able to set national standards - - things like time zones.
