There were many movements that gave voice to new writers. Post War Challenges occurred such as segregation. Other issues were new, such as the rebellion of young people against conventional culture. All of these challenges, though, paved the way for new writers and thinkers to take the stage and be the voices of the postmodern American culture. The end of the Renaissance move gave writers a lot to write about. Some of the most acclaimed works of the 20th century came out of the struggles of the 1930s and early 1940s.
