Read the passage from "Greek Myths: Windows on a Lost World."

One window through which you may look back to the world of the ancient Greeks is by way of the stories they told. These stories describe the world as the Greeks saw it, and as they dreamed it might be. In these stories, the Greeks explained what they thought made a person a hero, a true friend, or a fool. They showed what it meant to be Greek, and what it meant to be human.

Although Greek Myths, as many other myths from the different mythologies, teach us about certain nuances of the humanity, this paragraph talks about how Greek Myths tell us about how Greeks perceived the idea of being Greeks, what it meant to be Greek, the values of Greek people and their ideals.
