Our need to belong might affect our identities because a lot of people look for others to satisfy their needs and make them feel wanted. Its important for us to feel supported and worthy because if we dont we may struggle with self esteem issues that causes us to cover our true identities up by doing unhealthy things to ourselves or our bodies or changng our ways to fit others needs and wants. The first true step to finding our identities is feeling comfortable in our own skin and love ourselves. When we feel like we belong, the people we surround ourselves around tend to shape and change you and your life.
