Trafficking of children has been called "a global phenomenon connecting all countries and regions of the world in a complex network of illicit movement" The main causes behind human trafficking are - poverty, war, search for a better life, natural disasters, demand for cheap labor. Both social and personal factors lead to human trafficking. This may also include - Political instability, poverty, racism and legacy of colonialism, and gender inequality Effect of human trafficking could be severe which may lead to post-traumatic stress, depression, memory loss, fear and so on.
