Analyzing Fate, or forces over which people have no control is an important theme in this tragedy. Many events are blamed upon fate, starting with Shakespeare's description of Romeo and Juliet as "star-crossed lovers" in the Prologue. However, many events can also be blamed on the actions of the characters. Do you believe fate or free will caused this tragic ending? Explain.
