In the starting stanzas of the poem the poet is in a carriage with the death taking that carriage in a slowly and leisurely way but then it took up speed. In the last stanza, the poet is not anymore in a carriage but in a graveyard.

    Explanation:

In the poem: Because I could not stop for death" be Emily Jackson, she says in the beginning that since she was so busy, she had no time for death also. But then after waiting for some time, death took her in a carriage and riding in a slow and leisurely manner enjoying the beauty of nature also like setting sun, children playing. But in the fourth stanza she is seen lying in the graveyard with her perception changing.
