    I'm going to say D.

    Explanation:

A lot of poems then were signed "anonymous" because of a lack of documents from that period, but also because it was a trend to recreate classical poems and claimed they were handed down from an auctor (latin word for author). So the names of the people who re-wrote or embellished the original poems were not considered important.
