Oil and petroleum products supply was continued by the United states during the world war II. It traded oil and petroleum products to its allies.

    Explanation:

During world war II America was indulging in active oil and petroleum products with its allies specially British and European countries. China which was also assisting America in distributing oil products was not liked by Japan which planned to annex china and expand its boundaries. This annoyed US and it inflicted trade Embargo on the ports which carried steel supply to Japan. Japan which considered steel to be important for manufacturing arms and ammunition could not tolerate this move of halting trade by US. Pear Harbor attack aimed at destroying the oil tankers and vessels of US and more than thousand lives of the civilians were taken.

German submarines which announced continuous submarine warfare also destroyed the oil tankers of Us causing the tankers topple which created oil spill and polluted the ocean. Due to World war II, the price of oil commodities were high and the supply of oil products were short.
