    Zlateh the Goat narrates the story of a Goat that is going to be sold in the market, the problem was that the family had had a bad economic year and needed the money, so the father decided to sell the family goat in order to be able to have some money to recover from the crisis, so he send his son Aaron to sell the goat, Aaron is a main character since he is the one that is supposed to take the goat to the village but are caught by a snowstorm and take shelter in a haystack for 3 days, he survives by drinking the goats milk and returns home to tell the story of how the Zlateh saved his life.

    Zlateh the Goat tells the history of a goat that belong to a family who is going to sell it. Aaron is twelve years old, He is sent by Reuven his father to sell the goat, even when he is really young his parents consider him mature enough to make negotiations, at the end he decides to not let his parent sell his friend. He is one of the main characters of the story and also really active.
