Read the excerpt from William Faulkner's Nobel Prize Acceptance Speech. I refuse to accept this. I believe that man will not merely endure: he will prevail. He is immortal, not because he alone among creatures has an inexhaustible voice, but because he has a soul, a spirit capable of compassion and sacrifice and endurance. According to the excerpt, Faulkner believes that humankind will live forever because we are spiritual beings able to feel for others, give to others, and survive. because we are not likely to give up in times of difficulty or inconvenience. because we are artists capable of rising above the fray of destruction. because we refuse to accept feelings such as compassion, sacrifice, and endurance.

Answer: Because because we are spiritual beings able to feel for others, give to others, and survive.

    Explanation:

Faulkner states that a human is not merely a being who exists and lives day by day, but a being whose spiritual needs incite him/her to move on and therefore, live forever through each person's beliefs and capacities.
