Why do we try to imagine the future?

We often try to imagine the future so we know what is going to happen. If its bad we can easily avoid it. People also try to look through the future because of curiosity. They are curious about what is going to happen. What new items will we have? Will we look different? Most people think looking in the future is some sort of "Superpower". If we had the ability to look in the future, Everything on this world would change. We would see things differently and this would make a great impact in our lives.
