What must be present in a rhetorical précis?

In a Rhetorical Precis, several elements must be present.

First, the author, the title, and the title's date of publication must be present in the opening line. The opening line should also contain an overview of the author's central claim. Then, a short explanation of how the author develops his or her claim must appear. Next, an explanation of the author's purpose must also appear. Finally, an explanation of the author's intended audience must also appear.
