What is ironic about the description of who holds the events?

1) It is ironic that Mr. Summers is such a happy man, because he plans on deciding which member of the community has to die.

2) It is ironic that Mr. Summers puts on all the fun events. The reader would expect the lottery to also be a fun event, when really it is a horrific event.

3) It is ironic that Mr. Summers has no children, because he is so good at organizing events.
