Because of the revenge that Cyclops wanted to take from Odysseus, he prayed to Poseidon to interfere with journey of Odysseus of his men and because of this they were left on the sea shore only.

    Explanation:

In "Homer Odysseus", Cyclops was badly and brutally beaten up by Odysseus. The beating was so bad that it resulted in blinding of Cyclops because of the beat.

As a result of this anger, Cyclops wanted to take revenge from Odysseus. He decided to pray Poseidon who was the Greek god of sea. As a result of this interference, there would be interference in the journey of Odysseus on his way back home.
