Gulliver seems to be unhappy with the fact that the King of Brobdingnag does not seem to be excited about England. Therefore, Gulliver tries to tell him more about the accomplishments of his country. The first one is gunpowder. Gulliver describes the effects that gunpowder has for England, and the way it allows governments to control the citizens. The King, however, is horrified at such a barbarous suggestion, and asks Gulliver to never mention it again.
