In To kill the mocking bird, Miss Maudie Atkinson was a honest, fair and caring citizen of Maycomb who takes care of her garden and extends a hand of fellowship especially to her young neighbors. She is a widow who always work in her garden, growing flowers. She loves listening to children for advice, thereby encouraged her good friend, Scout Finch, to be strong and to respect her father.
